Pascala ("Callie") is a lovely, typey filly by the Pablo son Pablito. She has a very pretty face, with an exceptional eye, good neck, good topline and limbs. Good gaits: the trot is daiseycutting
A better amateur-oriented young horse prospect for dressage, the hunters, jumpers or eventing cannot be found.
A lot of thought was put into this cross, resulting in Pascala. I was breeding specifically for fillies that year with both broodmares. Pablito was chosen because I believe the Pablo line will prove to have very lasting and durable influence in the Hanoverian - with jumping ability and TYPE. I expect the influence of type to ring consistent and true down several generations.
Like her half-brother, the Approved, Class I Hanoverian stallion Fielding, no trailing hocks here, and well underneath herself. Callie has been nominated to the International Jumper Futurity.
On 9/15/08 Pascala was selected for the North American Jumper Breeding Program by the JBP Committee!
Callie was the top-scoring mare in the jumping portion of her Mare Performance Test, scoring 8.5 for Technique and 8.0 for ability. Dr. Christmann of the verband commented that her type is exactly what we should be breeding her, and rewarded her with an 8 for typiness and femininity, and an 8 for frame. She has been entered into the Main Studbook of the AHS. Scroll down for video and photos.
Callie was backed during the fall of 2007. This filly is showing aptitude for dressage in addition to jumping. She is willing, forward, and comes quickly to the bit. She has three good gaits, is free in the shoulder, comes over her back and gets underneath herself. She is walk, trot, canter under saddle, and has begun lateral work. She has been lightly jumped in the chute and under saddle, and enjoys it. She also enjoys hacking out, and during training was happily and confidently crossing streams and ditches.

In addition to the Pablo influence, Callie is 4x4 to Absatz, another proven and lasting proginator of type and beauty.
Callie has been amazingly precocious, and was perfectly content at age five weeks to leave mom in her stall, and with halter and leadshank, tour the farm with me without a backward glance. She is THAT secure in who she is. Every thing she is asked to do is just fine with her. Hummm....eventing may be in her future, she is so bold.
It appears that Callie will mature 16.3 - 17.0. This filly is perfect for the first time young horse owner, as she is very calm, forgiving and very trainable. She is intelligent, confident, and not at all spooky. She loads, travels well, stands quietly for farrier, fly spray and baths.
This is an exceptionally clear-minded, precocious and athletic filly. She is the equine partner that one hopes for, but seldom finds.

This mare was sold in 2008. The owner moved to California and could not take the mare with her. She was sold to someone in the Purcellville, Virginia area. She was going by the barn-name "Allie".
THe mare was an absolute favorite of mine, and I'm saddened I lost track of her. I'd love to know that she is okay. If you know of the mare, please shoot me an email to let me know how she's doing.
